Brief Thoughts on C.S. Lewis

I just wanted to share how much I love reading and studying the works of one of my favorite authors, C.S. Lewis. My family and I just went to see the latest Narnia film, Prince Caspian on Saturday. I loved it! So go see it and enjoy. I am starting here a series of posts based on excerpts from Lewis’ books that i have found especially thought provoking. My hope is that they will intrigue you so much that you go to the source and pick up one of his books, it will blow you away like it did for me. So here is the first reaction I had to C.S. Lewis’ “Mere Christianity” shortly before my son, Oren was born.

I am just going through a very exciting time right now and God is really moving in me and preparing me for something HUGE I can just feel it. He is speaking to my heart and working within me. He is the Great Healer and He can heal your broken heart and stir you in ways you cant even dream of. God loves you and wants to captivate you entirely, He longs to be your whole world. Just give into His awesome mercy and grace, He will take care of you. But be careful because once you go to Him there is no turning back. C.S. Lewis says in “Mere Christianity” coming from the perspective of our Lord Jesus Christ :

“Make no mistake,” He says, “if you let me, I will make you perfect. The moment you put yourself in my hands, that is what you are in for. Nothing less, or other, than that. You have free will, and if you choose, you can push Me away. But if you do not push Me away, understand that I am going to see this job through. Whatever sufferings it may cost you in your earthly life, whatever inconceivable purification it may cost you after death, whatever it costs Me, I will never rest, nor let you rest, until you are literally perfect, until my Father can say without reservation that He is well pleased with you, as He said He was well pleased with Me. This I can do and will do. But I will not do anything less.”

God Bless
